LuBase is the heart of our system – a hub through which you can manage all LuON devices. It’s thanks to LuBase that LuON system is so efficient, safe and fast. Equipped with an advanced Espressif processor, it boasts an impressive internal memory, and uses Apple HomeKit for communication. We can safely say it’s the only such smart home hub in the world! LuBase allows you to create an array of interesting scenarios for operating and automating your devices and to adjust your home to your individual needs. Directed towards both private individuals and companies or enterprises that aim to enhance comfort and work efficiency in their homes, offices, or commercial facilities. Controlling this HomeKit-enabled accessory automatically and away from home requires a HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV set up as a home hub. It is recommended that you update to the latest software and operating system.

Communication between iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod, HomePod mini, or Mac and the HomeKit-enabled LuBase is secured by HomeKit technology.

Use of the device according to its intended purpose

Using the device for other purposes should be considered as non-compliant with its intended use. Proper use according to its purpose also includes all activities related to correct and safe operation, assembly, and maintenance of the device. Therefore, the user is obliged to:

Familiarize themselves with the contents of the user manual and adhere to its recommendations;
Familiarize themselves with the contents of the components’ user manual and adhere to their recommendations;
Understanding the device’s operational principle and its safe and proper operation;
preventing accidents.

LuBase smart home hub is intended for controlling, monitoring, and managing all smart home LuON devices in private homes and commercial buildings. Its purpose is to optimize the operation of different elements within commercial buildings or homes, enhancing comfort, safety, and cost efficiency.

Rules of safe use

Unauthorized methods of usage can pose risks to the health and safety of the user and individuals within the device’s range, as well as the risk of damage to the installation site.

Before installation, carefully read the instructions and make sure that the device is not connected to power.
Before turning it on, make sure that the device is complete and has not been damaged during transport.
The device can be used by children over 8 years old and individuals with reduced sensory, physical, or mental abilities, or those lacking knowledge and experience in using this device, provided they are supervised or appropriately instructed, considering safe use and potential hazards associated with use by an adult responsible for their safety.
Children should not play with this device.
Use only indoors.
The device must be used only for the purpose indicated by the manufacturer.
Avoid placing the device in metal boxes or on metal surfaces.
Before connecting the device, check if the type of current and voltage of the power network matches the data on the device’s nameplate.
Use only a properly grounded power source. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person to avoid hazards.
Store in a place inaccessible to children. There is a risk of strangulation with the cord.
Avoid direct contact with heat sources or sunlight.
Avoid contact with moisture, water, or other liquids. Never immerse in water or other liquids.
In the case of wall mounting, make sure that the device is placed at the appropriate height – not higher than 2 meters from the floor.

The actions described below are the most predictable and are strictly prohibited:

Do not place near flammable materials, ensure fire safety.
It is not permissible to install additional elements or equipment in the device that are not included in its composition.
Unauthorized alteration and modification of the device are not allowed.
Do not interfere with the electrical system of the device. Report all damages to the manufacturer.
Do not use the device in the vicinity of explosive atmospheres.
Do not strike the device.
Do not step on the device.
Do not overload the device with other objects. The control panel must be free-standing and uncovered.
Do not continue using the device if abnormalities are detected. Turn it off immediately and restart only after normal usage conditions are restored.
Do not repair/maintain the device if it is connected to power.
Do not perform repairs that are not in accordance with the instructions.
Do not use non-original spare parts or replacement parts not recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not pull the cord.
Do not expose the power cord to contact with sharp surfaces.
Do not place the power cord in a location where it may come into contact with hot surfaces or create a tripping hazard.
Do not touch the cord with wet hands.
Do not expose the device to extreme conditions. Always use it within the recommended temperature and humidity ranges.
This device is not suitable for use in places where children may be present.

Operation

If there are any difficulties in interpreting this document, please directly contact LuON company via email for clarification of any doubts. During installation, follow the guidelines below.

Before commencing the installation, remove the device from the packaging and check for any transport damages, as well as ensuring it has all the necessary components. Dispose of all packaging materials in accordance with local regulations. Any modifications to the device and its accessories are prohibited.

1. Connection

Connect LuBase to local network via Ethernet cable.
Connect the power supply to power outlet and to Connection port in LuBase.
After plugging in Ethernet and power cables LuBase will power on and light up illumination (the illumination stays on at all times but user can turn it off in system settings).

2. Adding the gateway to Apple Home / First configuration

Open the LuHome app
Tap „+” in the upper part of the interface
Tap „add accessory” in the Apple Home section
Follow the instructions on screen to finish the configuration

3. Adding devices without LuHome app

Start pairing mode on the LuBase by holding the reset button for 6 seconds
Start pairing mode on the device you want to add – follow the instructions in the device’s user manual.

4. Reseting LuBase

Click and hold the reset button on the bottom of the device for 25 seconds

5. Removing devices from LuBase

Removing devices paired to LuBase is only possible through the LuHome app.

To remove a device, follow the steps below:

Open the LuHome app
Go to system settings
Tap „devices list”
Go to „configured devices” section
Switch to „LuON” devices
Find the device you wish to remove and tap it on the list
Tap „remove device”

6. Lighting signals description

First power on (before adding to Apple Home) | LuBase will activate a colorful light animation (so-called rainbow illumination)
Successful pairing of a device | LuBase flashes green
Unsuccessful pairing of a device | LuBase flashes red
Start of LuBase pairing mode | LuBase will illuminate purple throughout the pairing mode duration
No local network signal | LuBase will activate red illumination on two diodes located in the front part of the hub until the problem is resolved
Error reading the memory responsible for Backup and logs | LuBase will activate yellow illumination on two diodes located in the front part of the hub until the problem is resolved
Other errors | If the device encounters an error not listed above, it will activate purple illumination on two diodes located in the front part of the hub until the problem is resolved

Proper disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment

This device is marked in accordance with the European Directive 2012/19/EU and the Polish Act on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, with the crossed-out waste bin symbol. Such labeling indicates that after the period of use, this equipment cannot be disposed of together with other waste from households. The user is obliged to return it to entities responsible for collecting waste electrical and electronic equipment. The collectors, including local collection points, stores, and municipal units, establish an appropriate system for returning such equipment. Proper handling of used electrical and electronic equipment contributes to avoiding harmful consequences for human health and the natural environment, resulting from the presence of hazardous components and improper storage and processing of such equipment.

Warranty

The manufacturer guarantees that the product listed in this warranty card is new, free from any material and workmanship defects, made from high-quality materials, and meets technical and material requirements.

Terms of warranty:

Warranty period covers 24 months from the day of the purchase.
The manufacturer reserves the right to review and repair the device within 14 business days from the date of the device’s delivery to the manufacturer.
The proof of purchase serves as the basis for the user to request free repair services.

Customer rights:

The customer has the right, under the warranty, to receive free repairs for the device in case of a defect revealed during the warranty period.
The customer may request a replacement of the device with a new, defect-free product during the warranty period only if the manufacturer determines that rectifying the defect is impossible.

Warranty limitations:

Warranty repairs do not cover damages resulting from improper use, mechanical interference, or from conducting independent repairs and modifications.
The warranty does not apply in case of improper operation and defects resulting from the device being used in environmental conditions contrary to the instructions provided below, as well as in case of fire, water damage, or other force majeure events causing destruction or damage.

Procedure for filing a complaint:

In case of detecting faulty operation of the device, please contact the Service Department by sending an email to the address support@luon.eu.
Before sending the device, please ensure that it is complete and free from any mechanical damages. Subsequently, kindly send the device to the following address: 19B Cybernetyki Street, Apartment 402, 02 – 677 Warsaw.
